Lawyers arrived late in the court due to traffic

“A lawyer apprised the court that he had to rush to reach the courtroom on time as he was forced to park his car one kilometer away from the court gate due to haphazard parking.”

The Allahabad High Court on Wednesday directed SP Traffic Prayagraj to appear before the court on September 23 to manage the traffic and parking around the high court.

A bench of Justice Saurabh Shyam Shamsheri issued this direction while considering an application under Section 482 CrPC.

Advocate Saher Naqvi told the bench that due to vehicles parked randomly around the high court, he had to park his car 1 km away from the high court gate.

He informed the court that he had to cover the distance so that his case would not be dismissed in the absence of prosecution. He further told that he saw some police personnel present on the road who were unable to manage the jam and parking of vehicles.

Taking cognizance of the issues raised by Naqvi, the court also asked other lawyers present in the courtroom about the same.

The court said that senior advocate Amarendra Nath Singh, present in the court, also echoed Naqvi's plight and requested the court to give appropriate directions in this regard.
